What Find Asset's UHF RFID tagging supports out of the box.
An RFID asset tag is a thin label or hard housing containing a tiny antenna and a passive UHF chip. It has no battery. When a reader emits radio energy in the UHF band, nearby tags harvest that energy and transmit their stored identifier back. Because the exchange is radio rather than optical, the reader never needs to see the tag: assets respond through cardboard, plastic bins, cabinets, and stacked storage that would completely hide a barcode or QR code.
Each tag's EPC (Electronic Product Code) memory bank is encoded with a unique value and locked so it cannot be overwritten in the field. In Find Asset you bind that EPC to an asset record, so the number the reader captures resolves instantly to a name, category, department, assignee, and status. Encoding happens once, at tag commissioning, and the identity then travels with the asset for its whole life.
